BACHELOR IN EDUCATION (B.ED.)
What is B. Ed. about?
The course is a skill training based program which is focused on providing all the necessary training to the students so that they are clear about all the aspects of classroom teaching. The students who graduate from arts field are taught subjects like history, geography, English etc. while students graduating in the science field are taught chemistry, physics, biology etc.
B. Ed. is a vocational course which involves intense training to the students in order to make them aware of all the possible classroom scenarios and also make them understand about how to handle the classroom.
What are the skills required for B. Ed? Who should opt for the course?
Any student, who wishes to make a career in the field of school teaching, has to undergo the process of learning all the necessary aspects of education. In order to be eligible to teach at the high school level one has to pursue this course.
This course demands that the students must be vocal and fluent in their speech. The course also demands that the students must be good at problem solving because teaching at the school level is a very challenging job.
Eligibility of the Bachelor of Education [B.Ed]
The minimum eligibility criterion for admission to B. Ed. is that the student must be a graduate in any discipline. The candidate must either have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) or Bachelor in Commerce (B. Com.) from any recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Also, if the student has completed their postgraduate degree, then minimum 55% marks in aggregate is the criterion.
